Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, is located on the banks of the river Danube, just about 60 km in east from Vienna. The conference participants are advised to use the services of the airport in Vienna-Schwechat, Austria, which lies approximately 60 km west from Bratislava, or the Bratislava airport. There are regular bus lines or taxi services from the airport in Schwechat to Bratislava. The transportation from Bratislava airport to bus station Mlynske Nivy is realized by public trasportation or taxi services (cca 5-8 Eur). The cost with taxi is aproximately 40-50 Eur from Bratislava to the conference centre Smolenice. The distance from Budapest and Prague is about 200 and 350 km, respectively. Coming from these directions IC and EC trains are recommended. Roadways from all directions are available for those who prefer a car. The most convenient road and train routs lead from Vienna (60 km).
